I grew up in sunny Singapore and studied performance art and choreography in Amsterdam. I’ve been dancing since I was very young, starting with Latin American Ballroom (cha-cha, rumba, samba), then moving through ballet and contemporary styles, while also training in aerial silks. In this way, I’m happy to have a joyous relationship with my body and music. I’ve also been getting really into film, especially Asian and Southeast Asian queer cinema. My current work leans more towards a format of staging “live cinema,” casting people I find interesting and creating cinematic situations with them. I find myself storytelling through movement direction and worldbuilding through scenography. In my free time, I write in my journal about the things happening inside me and around me. I also listen to bedroom pop and indie music — and dance when no one is watching.
